About

I am just a squirrel trying to get a nut.  I have thoughts.  I think.  I think almost all day.  Every day.  So I want you to have a peek inside my brain at what I am thinking about because I am on a journey.  I WANT to be smart, so if you don’t agree with me, hopefully you can help to smarten me up.

Truth is my ultimate goal.  I want to be right.  I don’t want to be wrong.  I believe truth to be an external, objective thing that we all experience through reality.  In order to find what is real and true, we must first accept that our senses and logic are the only way of discovering, and that even sometimes, our senses and logic can be flawed.  So the trick is to find those flaws, and root them out via discussion, and group discovery.

Two other important things about my current frame of mind that might help you understand me (these are subject to change):

-My main method of approaching any subject is to take what is known (factual, actual, real) and build from that.  I don’t assume anything other than the fact that I exist.

-My main philosophy in life is to let others live how they want to live (as long as it doesn’t interfere with other people’s lives) and to treat people as I want to be treated.

Given all of that, I’ve currently taken on Objectivism as a truth seeking philosphy, and I’ve taken on a bit of a Libertarian mindset that helps to inform my opinions on politics, economics and sociology. These ideas of course are subject to change in the event that I find ideas that are more consistent with reality, but this is where I am starting.

Thanks for reading, and hopefully I will have some interesting topics.  If not, I suck.
